So this season too draws to a close, a 2013 full of surprises and emotions. It’s been a tough year, with plenty of great and less great experiences, all of them vital if I’m to become a better driver. For the last few years, each new season I’ve been able privileged to live a dream we all share and to wake up in the morning knowing that I’ll be doing what I love.
I’m giving it my all and I have to say I’m delighted with what I’ve achieved so far. However, in our lives we never do anything on our own. For this I'd like to thank all the friends who have been present at the circuits, the fans who have followed our fortunes from home and all those who have helped make this season a reality. I’d like to dedicate my first Formula 1 test aboard the Lotus R30 this year to all of you.
Thanks to the Lotus F1 Team, plans for the future have been in place for some time. Following the last race in Abu Dhabi, I remained in the United Arab Emirates for a week to test with another team, as programmed by the Lotus F1 Junior Team management. The encouraging and positive results give me great hope for the future… but we’ll have the chance to talk about that in person!
