Although there are other races on classic and famous Formula 1 circuits in the FIA Formula Two Championship calendar, the only true blast from the past comes at Brands Hatch. It’s on the English track that we’ll tackling the next round in the championship.
Its downhill swoops, its narrow corners, its humps and its walls so close to the track are those that used to host Formula 1 races and great, fearless drivers, with only one thing on their minds: winning.
I’d like to remind everyone that it was in a Formula 2 race in 2009, here at Brands Hatch, that my contemporary Henry Surtees lost his life.
However, I’m sure that in his memory all the current Formula 2 drivers will be giving their all through to the finishing line; I know I will be.
