The engines are about to be started for the second race in Alex Fontana’s 2016 season. The Swiss driver is already on his way to Silverstone for the second round in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, the championship of reference for GT cars. For Alex, racing in England has always been something of a home from home, all the more so this year given that he is driving for McLaren GT, the British constructor based at Woking, a few kilometres south of London, which has high hopes for this round. The BOP (Balance of Performance) following the opening round at Monza saw many competitors receive incentives for this race, while the McLaren 650S GT3 will have the same specification as at Monza.

“Racing in England has always been special for me. There is now a large group of fans who ever since I was racing in Formula 3 have been coming to see me to pay tribute to the memory of Tom Pryce to whom I have dedicated my helmet. During the period I spent under the wing of the Lotus Formula 1 Junior Team I lived a just a few kilometres from Silverstone and lots of friends will come along to support me on this occasion and it will be a great opportunity to get together. At Monza we showed that our car has great potential so let's hope that this time everything goes smoothly and that we can give McLaren GT a good performance in its home race."
