Alex Fontana will be lining up on track for the Hankook 12 H of Spa-Francorchamps, the fourth round in the 24h Series 2024 powered by Hankook. Following an encouraging 4th place in class in the 12h race at the Mugello and in the 24h of Barcelona last year, the Car Collection team is ready to go hunting for a podium finish with the crew composed of Alex Fontana, “Hash”, Ivan Jacoma and Yannick Mettler. The drivers will again be sharing the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) in the GT3 PRO-AM class, as on the previous occasions.
The Spa-Francorchamps circuit has been the stage for a series of excellent results in Fontana’s career. Among them mention has to be made of the 2nd place in the GT3 PRO-AM class in the Spa 24 Hours in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup 2023 and in Race 1 of the Gt4 European Series 2022, both with the Centri Porsche Ticino team, as well as his debut in the GP3 series with Jenzer Motorsport in 2011, when he claimed his first championship points as he took his first steps on the international motorsport scene, a path that led him to drive the Lotus Formula 1.
The Hankook 12H Spa-Francorchamps 2024 will be held from Friday 19 April with the 90-minute free practice session at 12:10. The three qualifying sessions to determine the grid positions will be held in the afternoon, from 15:30. The race will be divided into two six-hour halves: the first will start on Saturday 20 April at 12:50, while the second is scheduled for Sunday 21 April at 10:50.

“I’m delighted and very motivated to be racing again with Car Collection and my teammates Ivan, Yannick and Hash. We just missed out on the podium at the Mugello 12h despite a challenging weekend and I’m sure that here at Spa we’ll be ready to claim satisfying results. These races are very important ahead of the start of the start of the GT Open season in which I’ll be participating alongside Hash. I’d like to thank the team for the opportunity to compete in this race and I’ll be doing my utmost to ensure we bring home the best possible result.”
