You should have seen my face when they said I could get in the car and do a few laps.
And when I say car, I’m not talking about my sister’s Fiat 500 or the 220 HP Formula 3 I’ve been driving this season. I’m talking about Auto GP: a 615 kg single-seater powered by a 3,500 cc Zytek engine giving 550 HP, with a six-speed paddle-shift transmission, a maximumspeed of 337 kph and front tyres twice the size of the rears on my Formula 3.A spine-tingling, thoroughbred racing car.
I owe the thrill of those 36 laps to Angelo Corbetta who took me with him on a flying visit to the Circuito Internazionale dell’Umbria and to Gialunca Pomozzi’s TP Formula who put their free car and professional staff at my disposition. A fantastic opportunity that will undoutedly add fundamental experience to that I’ve accumulated over the years and sets me up nicely for the forthcoming winter testing.
