Thoroughbred horsepower

23/10/2014

Following the F1 I tested last year, the World Series 3.5 by Renault is without doubt the best performing single-seater I’ve ever driven. In contrast with a Formula 1 car, however, the WSR 3.5 is renowned for its weight and the physical strength required to drive it. It generates downforce similar to that of an F1, but does not have power steering which make it the heaviest car of all to drive according to those in the know.

I had the opportunity to participate in a test day with the Lotus team and it proved to be a great introduction to the category. I finished the morning session with the 2nd fastest time and remained in the leading group throughout the day.

The World Series is a very prestigious championship and together with GP2 is the most competitive platform outside Formula 1.

We’ll have to see what the future holds for us. In the meantime I hope that the team was satisfied with my performance and this intial contact.
