I’d say that my seasonal debut in the 2012 GP3 series was encouraging. This Formula 1 feeder series boasts a vast grid of some of the best drivers in the world. The car, which will be further developed and uprated for next year, offers high aerodynamic loading and handling similar to a Formula 1 machine so as to promote the best young drivers and nudge them towards the blue ribbon series.
It’s always very difficult to be competitive in a car you don’t know and coming into a championship that's already well underway. However, despite initial difficulties in the single free practice session and in qualifying, we set some excellent lap times during both races and were consistently in the top ten. I’d say it was definitely a positive weekend: I was able to get to grips with the car and mix in the highest motor racing circles. I can't wait to find out what's in store in the future!
