We’ve just spent a fantastic weekend at Silverstone for the British F1 Grand Prix and this time there were no upsets of any kind: no shunts, no penalties, no misunderstandings with the team. We started off on the right foot in qualifying by placing the car on the second row with the fourth fastest time and finishing both races in the points, in seventh and third, went a long way to repaying all the work we did over the winter. In any case, as happy as I am I was not surprised by the result: I knew we were working well, that the Jenzer team was well prepared, that the advice and training at Lotus were greatly improving my physical and mental condition and was sure that it was well within our capabilities, we just had to grab the opportunity. I’m determined to be back up there in the next race in a week’s time in Germany. Obviously it’s not going to be easy, my rivals have hardly gone to sleep. But we’re not hanging about either and we’ve got something special up our sleeves for Germany. We’ll see if it works and if it’s going to be enough to keep our noses in front.
Thanks to the Lotus lads that were there in front of the podium and thanks again to all the fans and friends who were cheering me on at the track or at home throughout the British weekend.
