Alex Fontana latest visit to the Nürburgring brought another prestigious result in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. in the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen, the seventh round of the 2026 season and the only six-hour race, the Swiss driver secured 2nd place in the Pro-Am class and 4th overall alongside Artur Goroyan and Nico Menzel, following a close-fought race that went right down to the final kilometres. Starting from 9th on the grid overall and 5th in the Pro-Am class, the crew of the Goroyan RT by Car Collection Porsche 911 GT3 R immediately set an extremely competitive pace. At the start, Nico Menzel made the most of the experience and confidence gained from his overall victory in last June’s NLS6 to put in an excellent first lap that saw him make up two places and move straight into fourth in the Pro-Am standings. The German driver then continued in the same vein with a decisive overtaking manoeuvre in the Mercedes Arena, moving up to 6th place overall and maintaining constant pressure on the leading crews.
The team’s strategy proved effective from the earliest stages of the race. Thanks to their pace on the track and their pit stop management, Goroyan RT by Car Collection actually took the lead in the Pro-Am class after the first pit stop, whilst simultaneously climbing up to 2nd place overall. A breach of the minimum pit stop time rule resulted in a penalty, but this had no impact on their position, allowing the crew to remain firmly in contention for a class victory. Fontana took the wheel during the third hour of the race, taking over the car whilst it was in the thick of the battle for the top positions. The Swiss driver’s pace was immediately competitive, sparking an intense battle for the Pro-Am lead. After briefly relinquishing 1st place in his class, he managed to reclaim it thanks to a solid and dependable performance, confirming once again his affinity with the Nordschleife. The management of Fontana’s double stint was also crucial. Thanks to an extremely consistent pace and excellent fuel management, the Swiss driver managed to extend his driving stint, allowing the team to optimise their strategy and ensure the car was in the best possible condition for the final stages of the race. At the end of his stint, the crew were in 3rd place overall and leading the Pro-Am class, having also increased their lead over their main class rival in the final stages of the stint.During the final stint entrusted to Artur Goroyan, the battle for victory remained wide open right up to the chequered flag.
