My first month’s military service at the Bedrina di Airolo barracks has come to an end. During this month I’ve divided my time between military commitments with the Logistics and Health Troop and GP3 testing in Spain and Portugal with the Swiss team Jenzer Motorsport. I really do have to thank my superiors at the barracks in Airolo for the freedom and trust they have extended to me in this period, granting me leave of absence for training, events and track testing.
As for the GP3 tests, the results were without doubt positive and on both occasions we finished in the Top 10 and managed to get in some excellent development work with the Pirelli tyres. Next year’s car will have evolved and be significantly different to drive; it was therefore important to get to know the tyres, which will be the same, and to work closely with the team. We’ll now have a winter break during which I’ll be continuing with my physical training so as to be ready for the first tests scheduled for February. In the meantime, our entire staff is working hard to try to consolidate the budget required for next season. For once, however, the feedback we’re receiving appears to be promising. I shall of course be keeping you up to date with all future developments.
All the best from Private Alex Fontana.
