Many illustrious guests graced the evening devoted first and foremost to the magnificent efforts of the Regazzoni family in the struggle to support paraplegics and secondly to my friends and supporters who I was delighted to see turned up in numbers! I found myself having to follow on from Filippo Lombardi, Marco Borradori, Prof. Michele Spinelli and Cesare De Agostini, trying to save face with my speech after the calibre of those who had gone before.
I hope I managed to give an idea in my brief account of how I have been getting on this season and the importance of the friendship and the link created with the Regazzoni family. Having the opportunity of attending an evening like this in a place with such a wealth of memories as the Clay Regazzoni Memorial Room really was an honour and a pleasure for me, above all thinking about the importance of the help the association Aiutiamo la paraplegia – Club Clay Regazzoni continues to offer the disabled. And it was so great to see how many of you were there, showing me once again your constant support and friendship! Over the course of the evening we were also privileged to listen to a reading from the book Clay Regazzoni. È sempre questione di cuore" by the author himself (Cesare De Agostini), during which I was struck by the words describing certain episodes in the life of the great Clay and I have to say I was hooked and listened to the entire reading in a maelstrom of emotions.
