This Friday, the 9th of March, many of my friends, sponsors and supporters gathered for the presentation of the programme for the imminent 2012 season and the car I'll be driving on Europe’s greatest circuits.
After winning the European Formula 3 Open title, moving up a step to Formula 2 seemed to be a natural progression, although there were a number of other opportunities to consider before deciding on what would be the best path to follow. GP3, World Series and Auto GP were just a few of these options.
After careful consideration, we’ve decided to participate in one of motor sport’s most prestigious series for the promotion of young drivers, with a starting grid featuring expert racers from all over the world competing on Europe’s greatest tracks.
I’ve been training hard over the winter months and I think that I’ve already established a great feeling with the Williams JPH1B.
I feel I’m ready for this new and difficult challenge.
Friday was a fantastic evening thanks to all the fans and the friends who flattered me with their presence throughout the presentation. My strength is drawn from the wonderful people who follow me.
I’d say that as the presentation seemed to have had the desired effect, I’ll be seeing plenty of familiar faces around the paddocks in England, Hungary, Italy and elsewhere.
I’m also delighted to be able to tell you that my partnership with Team Corbetta will be continuing this season: I will in fact be contributing to the development of the new Dallara F312 Formula 3 car for the team owner Angelo Corbetta and I hope he’ll find my suggestions useful.
All that remains is to renew my thanks for being close to me and for the friendship and support you demonstrate at every opportunity.
Thanks, from the heart!
